India and Cuba identify collaboration for digital transformation.

India and Cuba agreed to collaborate on digital transformation after the meeting of the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, and the Vice Minister of Communications, Grisel Reyes.

The official from the Caribbean country, who is visiting here at the head of a delegation of specialists, told Prensa Latina in New Delhi that the representatives of both countries identified important collaboration opportunities for digital transformation.

Reyes pointed out that the parties seek to share open source platforms to implement government services, training projects and education in emerging technologies, as well as the creation of a high-performance computing center, among other initiatives. "It was a profitable exchange that will undoubtedly lead to the strengthening of the relationship between both nations in the information and communication technology sector," he said. Likewise, the Cuban Vice Minister of Communications and the experts who accompany her had a meeting with the board of directors of the National Association of Software and Services Companies.

Desoft results are presented in a meeting with the specialized press.

Regarding the Cuban Press Day celebrated this March 14, the Computer and Communications Business Group (Geic) met with a group of journalists to recognize them and at the same time update on the main results of the companies that are members of this osde.

Osmara Nariño, Deputy Director of Projects of the Business Integration Division, and Dany Valiente, Director of Desoft Habana, spoke for Desoft, who explained the impact of strategic computerization projects and products in the country provided by the company.

Regarding Sagas, the automated water and sanitation management system, it was learned that this solution is implemented and in use in 15 of the 23 business entities and/or business units based on aqueduct and sewerage, which translates into 188 of the 292 entities, likewise the system is integrated and working with the Transfermovil electronic payment channel.

Meanwhile, SAGEN, the computing platform for energy management on the consumption side, is used in 65 entities with representation in the 15 provinces of the country, including the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, and is integrated with the commercial management system of the National Electric Union. and in the conceptualization process with the National Statistics Office.

Regarding Fevexpo, the first Cuban platform to hold virtual and hybrid events, it was reported that it has a website to learn about all its features and has been used successfully in multiple national and international events.

Cuba participates in the Summit Forum on the Information Society (WSIS 2023) to be held until March 17, at the Geneva International Conference Center.

The Cuban delegation is chaired by Wilfredo González Vidal, First Deputy Minister of Communications and is made up of Juan Quintanilla Román, Cuban ambassador in Geneva, José Carlos Cruz Sandoval, general director of the Young Computer and Electronics Club (JCCE) and officials from the Ministry of Communications (Mincom), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) and Ministry of Culture (Mincult).
