Cuba participates in the Summit Forum on the Information Society (WSIS 2023) to be held until March 17, at the Geneva International Conference Center.
The Cuban delegation is chaired by Wilfredo González Vidal, First Deputy Minister of Communications and is made up of Juan Quintanilla Román, Cuban ambassador in Geneva, José Carlos Cruz Sandoval, general director of the Young Computer and Electronics Club (JCCE) and officials from the Ministry of Communications (Mincom), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) and Ministry of Culture (Mincult).
The event is conducive to the exchange of information, the creation of knowledge and best practices, identifies emerging trends and fosters associations based on the evolution of Information and Knowledge Societies. In this event,
Cuba will receive recognition for its champion projects Young Club Móvil Ecológico, Young Club of Computing and Electronics, in category 2 on Information and Communication Infrastructure and the Cultural Billboard of Cuban Culture-La Papeleta, in category 15 : Cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content.
