Desoft presents Fevexpo platform website.

The Desoft Computer Applications Company presented today the website of the first consolidated Cuban platform in the execution of virtual and hybrid events Fevexpo (www.fevexpo.cu), in the context of the entity's 25th anniversary.

Another functionality is the inclusion of the virtual exhibition fair with the aim of promoting company products and services in pavilions and stands, he pointed out. In the midst of challenges Cuba develops the software industry.

In the midst of an international phenomenon such as the theft of professional talents, Cuba is fighting for the development of the software industry, of computer applications, a field with potential capacities to generate income from exports and import substitution, it was affirmed today in this capital.

Experts from various organizations agreed on these and other assessments during the meeting of the inter-institutional Council of the macro program known as Productive Transformation and International Insertion, which, as part of the National Development Plan until 2030, aims at the reconversion of that industry towards the digitalization of the country, to invest in technologies.

He specified that 30 state entities are taxed towards it, including two technology parks, 161 Mipymes and 800 self-employed workers, and 16 universities in terms of training; However, in many places there are problems with the fluctuation of their personnel, and Cuba is not immune to talent theft by information technology monopolies and first world nations.

Cuba, with two projects selected as champions to opt for the WSIS Awards.

Two Cuban projects have been selected as champions to compete for the World Summit on the Information Society (CMSI) Awards.

After the public voting process that was carried out online, the five projects with the highest number of votes were identified for each of the categories, leaving: Joven Club Móvil Ecológico, Joven Club de Computación y Electrónica, in category 2 on Information and Communication Infrastructure and the Cultural Billboard of Cuban Culture-La Papeleta, in category 15: Cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content. Both projects were among the 90 champion projects out of 358 nominees for the WSIS Awards shortlist. The WSIS Awards are the mechanism created by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in order to internationally recognize the initiatives presented by the private sector, civil society and academic institutions.

This platform shows success stories and models that could be replicated for their contribution to development through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). During the WSIS Forum, the 18 winning projects are officially announced to the public, the result of the exhaustive analysis carried out by the Group of Experts on the five most voted projects in each category.
