India and Cuba agreed to collaborate on digital transformation after the meeting of the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, and the Vice Minister of Communications, Grisel Reyes.
The official from the Caribbean country, who is visiting here at the head of a delegation of specialists, told Prensa Latina in New Delhi that the representatives of both countries identified important collaboration opportunities for digital transformation.
Reyes pointed out that the parties seek to share open source platforms to implement government services, training projects and education in emerging technologies, as well as the creation of a high-performance computing center, among other initiatives. "It was a profitable exchange that will undoubtedly lead to the strengthening of the relationship between both nations in the information and communication technology sector," he said. Likewise, the Cuban Vice Minister of Communications and the experts who accompany her had a meeting with the board of directors of the National Association of Software and Services Companies.
Previously, in a forum in New Delhi directed by the Economic Trade Organization of India at the headquarters of the Federation of Exporters of the South Asian country, the Cuban official highlighted the possibilities of joint work between companies from the two countries to enter the market technology in Latin America. "Indian companies have a high level and we intend to complement, integrate and articulate based on the potential to train personnel in the information technology sector," he asserted.
Among the areas of interest are artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, among other sectors in which both parties could be linked without difficulty. The Cuban delegation also participates in the Indiasoft 2023 international exhibition and conference of information and communication technologies, which is the favorite meeting point for Indian technology developers and consumers from all over the world. Considered the largest technological event, the forum has delegates from more than 60 countries and 1,500 national electronics, hardware and information technology exhibitors.
