Cuban Project Winner in the Media category of the WSIS 2021 Award.

CMHS Radio Caibarién, the only Cuban project to win in the Media category of the 2021 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Award CMHS Radio Caibarién won the Award in the Media category of the World Summit on the Information Society 2021 (WSIS) held in Geneva, the capital of Switzerland. The event, transmitted online through different platforms and social networks, awarded the award to the website of our station among the five finalist projects in this section, previously selected from a score of applicants. The international contest, organized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU, for its acronym in English), highlighted the work of a team that strives to reflect with objectivity and professionalism the reality of Villa Blanca and Cuba for the rest of the world. This contest evaluates projects and activities that harness the power of information and communication technologies (ICT) to advance towards sustainable development. More than an award for the Radio Caibarién Website, it is an award from the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), the Ministry of Communications and all of Cuba.

Dialogues between Government and Science are strengthened; this time with the Ministry of Communications Nationals.

As part of the actions carried out by the country to promote a government management system based on science and innovation, the President of the Republic led a working meeting with executives, scientists and experts associated with the telecommunications and information technology sector. . Elevated is the responsibility of the Ministry of Communications in the challenge that the country has to promote and take more advantage of the use of science, technology and innovation, in pursuit of the development of the nation. The road to travel, although it requires the support of the entire Cuban scientific and technological community, has an essential complement there. If we do not promote innovation, then we do not develop the country, and based on that we must work, stressed the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in an exchange at the Palace of the Revolution with managers, experts and scientists closely linked to that sector. The dialogue, defined by the Head of State, is a consequence of the work carried out by the Government to gradually implement a management system based on science and innovation. Similar to this meeting, others have been held in previous moments, with representatives of various ministries and organizations, all with the participation, in addition, of the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Inés María Chapman Waugh. As part of the work that has been started to extend this management system to each of the country's areas, Díaz-Canel recognized that the Ministry of Communications is one of the organizations that comes closest with its work to the objective we have set for ourselves. . Among the different processes that it is essential to develop, he highlighted the training of human potential, which includes doctors and masters, essential “pulleys” in the desire to transmit science and innovation to all scenarios. That they participate and be inserted in the sectorial science and innovation programs, both national and territorial, is one of the great challenges to achieve the necessary interrelation with the knowledge sector, said the president.

Official Gazette publishes legal norms on a package of measures to strengthen the socialist state enterprise.

The norms in question include two decree laws approved by the Council of State: No. 34 "Of the Cuban State Business System" and No. 36 "Amendment of Law 105 'Social Security Law', of December 27, 2008 ”. They also include Decree 39, "Amending Decree 283 Regulations of the‘ Social Security Law ’", which dated from April 6, 2009. Decree Law No. 34 ratifies the socialist state enterprise as the main subject of the national economy; with autonomy in its administration and management, while having the main strategic role in the production of goods and services. This Decree Law contains the 15 measures that make up the package of legal provisions announced by the Ministry of Economy and Planning since September 2020. These offer special attention to how to strengthen the socialist social enterprise. Likewise, they intend to guide the latter towards its necessary transformation, which should result in better conditions to guarantee that the system of state-owned companies makes the leap in production, as well as in the provision of services and in terms of quality within the economic life of the country. country.
