Desoft and the Spanish company PeopleWalking sign an International Economic Association contract.

The Desoft Computer Applications Company and the Spanish trading company PeopleWalking today signed an International Economic Association (AEI) contract, the first of its kind in the country related to information and communication technologies.

This contract will expand market possibilities through the creation of an International Center for Information Technology Services, which will draw on Desoft's software development capacity and the contracting of services to other entities in the country.

The purpose of this Contract is to develop, market and export computer applications and provide services associated with Information Technologies in a market provided by the foreign party that allows the realization of international projects.

The decision to create this type of link arose from the relationship of trust for the export of services developed between both companies, after successful commercial relations.

The agreement was signed through the videoconference system, with the presence of the special notary, from Havana, and the directors of PeopleWalking at the Cuban consulate in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

In the case of Cuba, Ariadne Plasencia Castro, president of the Informatics and Communications Business Group (Geic) and Luis Guillermo Fernández Pérez, director of Desoft, in charge of signing the document on the Cuban side, were also present.

In a session of the Council of State, the compliance report and the implementation of decree law no. 35 “On Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies and the Use of the Radio Spectrum”, dated April 13, 2021.

When presenting the issues related to this topic, Wilfredo González Vidal, First Deputy Minister of Communications, and María del Carmen Concepción González, president of the Commission for Attention to Services of the Cuban Parliament, agreed on the importance of this regulatory provision that establishes the framework telecommunications, information and communication technologies associated with them and the use of the radio spectrum, among other aspects.

Some data on the development of telecommunications in the country

• 7.5 million Cubans with Internet access at the end of 2021, according to ONEI data. Of these, six million access through cell phones

• 618 popular councils already have 4G, including all provincial and municipal capitals

• More than 260,000 homes with an Internet connection through the Nauta Hogar service

• 7.21 million cell phone subscribers

• 1.54 million fixed telephony subscribers

• More than three million decoder boxes for digital television sold since 2013

• 76% population coverage of standard television and 46% of high definition.

The Territorial Division of the Computer Applications Company, Desoft Sancti Spíritus was recognized by the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba during the closing of the II Economic-Productive Conference Cuba 2022

The award was presented during the closing of the II Economic-Productive Conference Cuba 2022, which took place in June in the country's capital, with the purpose of contributing to the productive chain for exports, import substitution and investment. foreign; promote the sale of idle inventories; promote the use of digital platforms for the promotion and negotiation between the different electronic actors, among other objectives.

The mission of this entity here lies in developing and marketing comprehensive computer products and services associated with Information Technologies to contribute to the sustainable development of society. Desoft Sancti Spíritus has a workforce of 95 workers, characterized by its youth and high qualifications: 85 percent of the group has a higher education degree and 57 percent is under 40 years of age.
