With the presence of Ariadne Plasencia Castro, President of the Informatics and Communications Business Group (Geic), the results of the Desoft Computer Applications Company in the past year and the objectives for this 2022 were analyzed. It was recognized that 2021 was a year of great challenges for Desoft, marked by the pandemic, the intensification of the measures imposed by the United States government and the beginning of the Ordering Task.
Despite the difficulties, the company managed to meet its economic indicators and the way of obtaining income came closer and closer to the objectives set within the digital transformation.
During the past year Desoft continued to consolidate itself as a leading company in the computerization of business and government management, strengthened its digital ecosystem and its software as a service strategy, focused on generating alliances. It also expanded its capabilities in the foreign market.
The certification of the ERP ZOOM, Cuban Localization of Odoo for its commercialization as accounting software in the country, and the association with the prestigious Belgian company Odoo S.A. for the sale of its software, were among the most relevant results.
Based on this technology, the company developed other products such as the Automated Water and Sanitation Management System (Sagas) for aqueduct and sewage companies, the Sales and Production Management System (Promac) for the Geicon business group and the development of Fevexpo, the first Cuban platform for virtual and hybrid events.
Virtual stores and the platform to offer ERP services in the cloud to MSMEs are also included.
The pilot tests of the Portecoos project and the beginning of its use in the Western Port Services and the Mambisa Consignataria, the start of the deployment of the Sagen (Automated Energy Management System) and the implementation of the Fine Control and Management system ( CGM) in one hundred percent of the offices in the country.
Other advances in 2021 are related to the publication of the electronic payment service for violations through the Transfermóvil platform; and the migration and start-up of the Hidrocuba system, in version 12 of Odoo.
The versions of the Computer Security Suite and the Billboard APK of Cuban Television were also updated, as well as the development of websites for the Onure, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Onat Tax Portal.
To consolidate these results, the work of the infrastructure group of the company's Technology Department was essential, providing solutions that made it possible to take advantage of cloud resources even more, and facilitate technical assistance to customers without the need to go to their facilities.
As social communication is one of the three pillars of government management in Cuba, our system was updated with the aim of achieving better feedback and integration between the Divisions, greater presence, positioning and reach in social networks, and the correct use of the new visual identity.
The figures reached in exports were impressive, the plan in this section was over fulfilled by more than thirty-five percent, constituting the income from abroad, those with the greatest contributions, to which was added the presentation of the Association Contract project International Economic "Center for Information Technology Services" that will constitute the first foreign investment business of the Ministry of Communications of Cuba
An important fact for Desoft was the approval of Resolution 172/21 of the Minister of Communications that grants the endorsement for exceptionality of the Management Model for the strengthening and development of the state entity of applications and computer services that enables a group of economic benefits for the company. For 2022, it was pointed out that the planned plan is quite tense with many challenges with significant growth in income and utility to meet, as well as contributions to the State budget based on the needs of greater economic contributions for the country.
Among the work objectives for this year, the need to effectively comply with the business plan for 2022 was pointed out, to consolidate the implementation of the Software as a Service (Saas) Business Model, contributing to the increase in sales of the organization, to implement the Business Management Model for the State Company of Computer Applications and Services (EASI) as a complement to the Saas Model and improve the Innovation Management System and internalize it in the value chain.
Other purposes are related to the technological support infrastructure for the Saas Model, managing information security and the company's critical infrastructures and implementing a quality management system in Desoft's internal services. Luis Guillermo Fernández Pérez, general director of the company, when speaking about the results and goals of this year, expressed ¨ let's get rid of our heads the traditional and the practices with which we have survived, our only option is to be truly creative in the face of challenges and opportunities offered by the new national context”. He also pointed out that this is the year we are at the turning point of the company and it is essential to make transformations in the organizational and structural capital to adapt and assume the challenges in our relationships with third parties.
Luis Jorge Fernández Trujillo, director of the Business Integration Division, stated "in order to advance in the strategic projects of the company, it is essential to guarantee the infrastructure and finish resolving the problems that exist regarding the providers and the established values of this service, as well as update the cost sheet of the company's products and services". At the end of the debate, Ariadne Curbelo Castro, President of the Informatics and Communications Business Group (Geic), recognized the results and called for turning 2022 into a turning point for the company, where the necessary analyzes are carried out with the purpose of achieve the proposed objectives, in this he stressed, the Desoft cadres are essential.
