During the session "Gender equality and empowerment of girls and women through ICT" on the last day of the # AmericaAccesible2021 event, the experiences of women in the computer sector were presented with the participation of Daisy Diana Vargas Vento , Desoft Business Deputy Director

His presentation entitled "Resilience and transformation during the pandemic: women from the ICT" aimed to convey the experience of women with responsibilities in a leading company in the ICT sector in the country, who have known how to reinvent themselves in times of pandemic as well how to contribute to the empowerment of women in the sector, by proposing some elements derived from experience to promote their potential.

The directive highlighted in its intervention that in times of Covid19 there was a false feeling that when you are at home you work less when in reality there is a simultaneity of tasks, not only domestic and work, but also those related to the education of the children and the care of the family She also referred to the actions that can promote the participation of women in ICT after the critical moments of the pandemic, such as making working hours more flexible, without completely eliminating social activity and office days, ensuring connectivity, access to Internet and communication tools, as well as access to training and education, mainly at a distance.

As part of his intervention, he explained the strategies followed by the Desoft Computer Applications Company to overcome the challenges imposed by sanitary conditions, for which work routines were modified towards teleworking, exchanges by videoconference, online or telephone messaging. creating the conditions for each worker according to their functions, including women.

The eighth edition of the international event América Accesible 2021: "Information and Communication Technologies for All", began this November 29, in Varadero, Cuba and lasted until December 1, 2021. The meeting was organized by the Telecommunications Development Office (BDT) of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Cuba. The event aimed to contribute to the purposes of closing the digital divide and equipping all groups in society, including people with disabilities, indigenous people, the elderly, youth, gender and other groups of people to take advantage of ICTs. .
