As of 2015, Fernández Pérez emphasized, the business model based on software as a service known internationally by its acronym in English (Saas) is adopted and the company becomes a provider of information technologies embedded in the value chain of the customers. The Desoft representative stressed that the transformation process was not a strategy to gain competitiveness but rather an essential adaptation for the survival of the company in the current context. "The modifications were based on the evolution of the infrastructure, the implementation of computing solutions in the cloud, the implementation of digital identity, treating the consumer as a virtual client and internationalizing services," Fernández said. As explained by the Director of Desoft, the infrastructure underwent radical transformation when a corporate network was created with a public and a private cloud, and electronic government solutions such as citizen portals and other internal government management solutions began to be provided. Fernández Pérez described as strategic projects in the cloud the systems for the management of water resources and those for water and sanitation, called Hidrocuba and Sagas respectively, the computer platform for the management of energy consumption, Portecoos for port logistics and the ERP Odoo Cuban localization (Lc) a web application that integrates and automates all the processes of an entity, based on what is established in the Cuban standards for financial accounting processes.
