The Computer Applications Company Desoft is holding today the IV National Workshop on Odoo, a free software of Belgian origin, of which this entity is the only Partner in Cuba.

The event, held at the Habana Libre Hotel, sought to promote the use of this free digital solution in the Cuban business environment with its use in business management, in electronic commerce, in hybrid events and in different online platforms for Cuban society.

Desoft is represented throughout the country by more than two thousand specialists and its clients include government entities and Cuban firms and institutions such as the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), the Attorney General's Office of the Republic, the National Assembly of People's Power, Habanos S.A., Tabacuba and Etecsa.

As was learned at the Workshop, Odoo is an integrated ERP software. It has an open source community version under LGPLv3 license and an enterprise version under commercial license that complements the community edition with commercial features and services and developed by the Belgian company Odoo S.A.

This software is developed mostly with Python code and XML files and is interacted with through a web interface. Desoft is the creator of the ERP Zoom LC Odoo, developed on the community version of Odoo, open source technology with more than three million users and a large international community of support and was presented in Cuba for the first time at the 2020 International Computer Fair.

Engineer Dany Jesús Valiente Prieto, General Director of Desoft, pointed out during the event the importance of the use of this free software for the computerization of Cuban society and its business system, closely linked to Cuba's Economic and Social Development Plan for 2030.
