The Computer Applications Company, Desoft, celebrated its 25th anniversary throughout the country with multiple activities, including a special morning meeting with the presence of the Minister of Communications of Cuba, Mayra Averich, the President of the Geic Business Group, Ariadne Plascencia and the performance of the children of the Colmenita.
Mayra Averich, in her words, recognized that the company has worked with great commitment since the beginning of the work for computerization and today has an important role not only in the digital transformation at the national level, but also because of its responsibility to contribute to local development. .
The head of the Ministry of Communications highlighted the commitment and desire to always make visible in their exchanges with workers in all territories where the company is present. In another moment of his speech, he recognized that last year Desoft worked on innovative projects with great impact on the lives of Cubans.
For her part, the President of the Computer and Communications Business Group congratulated the workers and described Desoft as the flagship of computerization in Cuba, which means great pride and at the same time a great commitment.
He also presented Luis Guillermo Fernández Pérez, Director of Desoft, with a table of recognition for his 25 years of perseverance and commitment to the digital transformation of the country. In a brief account, the director of the company spoke of the most important moments in these twenty-five years and how we have reached the present time, always linked to the development of the territories, specifically in business and government management.
Last year, Fernández Pérez emphasized, the company faced great challenges in the face of the complicated situation in the country, however it fulfilled its commitments and achieved a group of transformations and work on national projects of great importance in the context of the computerization of society.
"This year we have the challenge of consolidating all the transformations that we are missing in order to insert ourselves more dynamically into all the digital transformation processes," concluded the manager. With regard to this anniversary, the Union of Communications, Information Technology and Electronics Workers, presented the call for the Day for the Worker's Day of our sector that began on February 9 for the Desoft celebrations. Several founders and workers about to retire received recognition in this special morning that closed with a beautiful show by La Colmenita with verses dedicated to Desoft on its anniversary.
