Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, Deputy Minister of Communications of Cuba, holds a working meeting with Doreen Bogdan-Martin, director of the Development Office of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
During the meeting they reviewed the status of ITU collaboration projects with Cuba, including the identification of new areas in which other initiatives could be initiated. The Cuban deputy minister recognized the excellent organization of the World Telecommunication Development Conference while reiterating the country's will to continue working together with the ITU for a more interconnected world, updating the leadership of the efforts carried out by the country in the digital transformation and the priority given in Cuba to the participation of women in management and development work within the telecommunications sector, as well as the active participation of young people in the implementation of policies related to telecommunications and information and communication technologies.
Doreen recalled the excellent organization and development in Cuba of the Accessible America event held at the end of 2021 and ratified the ITU's willingness to continue working on collaborative projects with the country. Bruno Ramos, director of the ITU regional office in the Americas, also participated in the exchange.
