A meeting is held between the economic actors of the Computer Applications and Services Industry and the directors of the Ministry of Communications (MINCOM) of Cuba

The activity, chaired by the Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich Marín, the First Vice Minister, Wilfredo González Vidal and the Vice Minister Grisel Reyes León brought together representatives of companies, MSMEs and self-employed workers belonging to the sector.

At the meeting, the organization chart of the Ministry of Communications was shown with respect to the development of the Information Technology Industry and the digital transformation of the country, for a greater understanding and knowledge by the economic actors of the sector, of the internal functioning of the entity and the process per se.

The updated legal framework was presented, with its 2 Decrees, 5 Law Decrees, the 6 CECM agreements and the 98 Resolutions and instructions, where criteria and suggestions regarding its implementation in private MSMEs were exchanged.

The 6 Projects that conceive the 6 strategic axes of the National Development Plan 2030 (PNDES 2030) for which the MINCOM is responsible were explained. The participation of these actors was promoted with proposals and innovative projects that can be applied.

Reyes León, in one of his presentations, explained that the digital transformation process is "an open project that aims to improve itself with experience and good practices".

In addition, the Software Industry is discussed in the national context, its challenges and main results in 2021. González Vidal, First Vice Minister of Communications, said: "being able to grow as an industry poses challenges and new projections", making it clear that only united will we achieve a faster and more effective digital transformation, designed for the well-being of the Cuban people.

The exchange was very productive for both parties, where managers, companies, MSMEs and self-employed workers, were left with the security of creating more spaces for debate and confident in the projection and analysis of their criteria.

The Minister of Communications, in the conclusions of the activity, ratified the importance of holding meetings like these, of preparing a catalog of the Cuban Software Industry and urged to continue innovating and creating for the development of the country.
