On the occasion of the Cuban Science Day, an activity was carried out that served as a platform to recognize entities from the sector, team members from national and sector science, technology and innovation programs, and young members of the youth technical brigades who They distinguished themselves in 2021 for the scientific and innovative impact of their work. It was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Jorge L. Perdomo Di Lella, the Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich Marin, the Deputy Ministers of Communications, Grisel Reyes León and Ana Julia Marín, the General Secretary of the Communications Union, Marisol Fuentes Ferrer, and the National President of the BTJ, Jeiler Carmona Brito, They were recognized: - The management team of the National Program for Science, Technology and Innovation "Telecommunications and Computerization of Society" led by Dr. Alina Ruiz Jhones and by the secretary, Dr. Arturo César Areas Orisondo, from the University of Havana, for their outstanding performance during its execution in 2021. - The heads and secretaries of the Sectoral Programs: Aylin Febles Estrada and Dania Marrero, for the Program of the Cuban Software Industry and Computerization of Society; Caridad Anías Calderón and Gerardo de León Ojeda, for the Telecommunications Program; Raydel Montesinos and Yolanda Varela, for the Cybersecurity Program; for his notorious work in management, design, call, selection of projects to integrate into program folders, evaluation of experts and payment of remuneration.
- The companies and institutions that have stood out for their work in Science, Technology and Innovation Management: The computer applications company (DESOFT), the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA), the Technological Science Parks of Havana and Matanzas. - Young members of the youth technical brigades (BTJ) for the scientific-technical results associated with the bank of problems of their entities; for the Correos de Cuba Business Group: Leonardo Estrada Cúbela (for the implementation of a communications server for the integration of telematic systems), to Ernesto Suárez Ramírez and Raynel Rodríguez Oliva (for the implementation of the automated collection of ETECSA invoices) ; for ETECSA: to Daniela Álvarez Aguilar (for the interactive application for the detection of crossed sectors and the analysis of mobility statistics of the mobile access network) and Sebastián Rodríguez Méndez (for the mobile solution for the management of the nauta service "APK nauta V2.0.0"); for Joven Club: to Idelsis Cruz Veitia (for the Robot Computerization project); Dayana Hernández Herrera (for the "Infoverde" project) and José Antonio Tejeda Bermúdez (for the "FRE" renewable energy project); and for MOVITEL: to Fidel Alejandro Carcaces (for the solution for the interconnection of GSM-Ry MPT 1327 networks and integrated communications services platform). The meeting highlighted the important link that the sector has represented in the development of our country, since every grain of sand contributed by specialists, technicians, creators and scientists, has allowed us and will continue to drive us, to continue reaping achievements. Also recognized was the Master in Social Sciences, Rafael Galindo Mier: Senior Researcher and worker at the Telecommunications Research Center, who received the Carlos J. Finlay order, granted by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, in recognition of the extraordinary merits for his valuable contributions to the development of social sciences; because his research has contributed exceptionally to the progress of science and for the benefit of humanity, and especially, to the improvement and well-being of the Cuban people. The scientific development achieved by Cuba is aimed at social progress, at improving the quality of life of the people and of millions of other people in the world. That is why such an important milestone was celebrated today, with entities from the ICT sector.
