The Desoft Computer Applications Company concluded the first stage of the Electronic Government project, with the publication on the Internet of the citizen portals of 146 Cuban municipalities and progress towards higher stages of these websites at the provincial level. As published today by the official website of the Informatics and Communications Business Group, work is currently under way for the portals to become the government's main interface for exchange with citizens. Luis Guillermo Fernández, general director of Desoft, explained that one of the biggest challenges of the project is that the solutions provided by the company and other Cuban entities are integrated and their exit is through these government portals, with the objective that the citizen interact in a single space and don't have to remember multiple email addresses. The manager added that the company's digital ecosystem guarantees interoperability, security and efficiency; and confirmed that Desoft has been transformed with the progress of the project. The Electronic Government project was internationally recognized when the Repinar web portal, from the province of Pinar del Río, was champion in the category "Role of governments and actors in the promotions of Information and Communication Technologies", awarded by the World Summit on the Information Society in 2019.
