The new information and communication rails must serve to bring us closer to prosperity. The concept set the tone for the annual working meeting of the Ministry of Communications, which was attended by the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz. To strengthen the leading role of the Ministry of Communications (Mincom) in the computerization of processes, to look with renewed eyes at the potential in the new Information and Communication technologies (ICT), invited the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz , to directors of that body that this Thursday held its annual work meeting. From the Palace of the Revolution, in a meeting headed by the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, where what has already been done was valued and the priorities for future work were addressed, the Head of Government told the representatives of the Mincon that In the current times, this guiding function is vital - which must be accompanied by a more rigorous control and guidance - in order for the institutions to successfully undertake the assimilation of ICT. Regarding the computerization of society, as Marrero Cruz reflected, it is clear that progress has been made and that this new language has permeated the population. In any case, he stressed, it is time to make a sort of cut and identify in which aspects related to the computerization processes of the country's organizations and institutions, progress is not being made at the desired speed. Regarding the above, the Prime Minister said that in some places they have gone further than in others, and that some people still do not perceive how certain activities can be computerized, seen as processes in which bureaucracy and all kinds of obstacles are discarded. or discomfort. Regarding the use of ICT, Marrero Cruz alluded to social networks and how they have already become essential tools in terms of communication. In that universe, he underlined, the enemy of the Cuban Revolution has designed its matrices to attack, to disguise a true lie, to confuse and deceive; And faced with such a scenario, he said, we revolutionaries must go on the offensive and be prepared to generate content.
Those same networks, the Prime Minister analyzed, are serving the people so that they can express their dissatisfactions and concerns, to get messages to the leadership of the country; and this new scenario then demands greater agility from the institutions in solving problems, or in explaining a question, or in responding. Every day ICTs, Marrero Cruz stressed, are more inherent to our fortunes, in such a way that quality of life and prosperity depend on them. Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, head of Micom, listed as an introduction to the meeting what are the essential objectives of the organization: the expansion of broadband and digital television, the defense of national cyberspace, a secure communications system, Government and Electronic Commerce, the strengthening of the State Enterprise, the development of science, technology and innovation, the control of the radioelectric space, postal services, as well as computerization and internal transformations. In the voice of the representatives of the ministry, reference was made to working to achieve new sources of income for the country, bring new information and communication technologies to the communities, and continue to improve the Government and Electronic Commerce. Emphasis was also placed on continuing to develop telework platforms, accelerate the speed of bankarization processes, strengthen business dynamics and management models based on ICT, and put the benefits of the same according to the needs of Cuban society.
